Subscribe to emailsAt this time every year, we start to contact landowners who become liable for land tax for the first time, as well as owners whose circumstances may have changed.
If you owned land on 30 June 2026, you might receive a letter from us. This letter includes details of your landholdings and either tells you we’ve applied an exemption to your property or has instructions on how to apply for an exemption (e.g. for land used as your home or for primary production).
We also start issuing the annual land tax assessment notices. These are for the 2026–27 financial year and are sent by post. However, if you have opted for online assessment notices, you’ll receive an email to let you know when your notice is ready to download from QRO Online.
Make sure you keep your contact details up to date. It’s also a good idea to:
- add @treasury.qld.gov.au to your email program’s safe senders list so that our emails to you don’t end up in your junk folder
- set a reminder in your personal calendar to log in to QRO Online in July each year to check your details are up to date.
