Top tips for dealing with duplicate transactions, cancelled agreements and drafts
31 August 2023
Avoid creating duplicate transactions
Don’t lodge your transactions too early! You have 60 days to lodge a transaction for relevant transfer agreements under s.156D, keeping in mind provisions in Public Ruling DA019.1. If you wait to lodge until all details are entered, you can continue to make changes in edit while not contravening your obligations to lodge in time. Plus, you won’t need to contact us to change it!
Need to correct a transaction in QRO Online? If you’ve completed a transaction in an electronic workspace and QRO Online but you need to correct it, don’t cancel it out of your electronic workspace and create another transaction. Contact us first on selfassessment@treasury.qld.gov.au as in most cases we can fix it.
How to cancel a duplicate
If you’ve created a duplicate lodgement, submit a transaction cancellation request online. This request can only be used if you’ve submitted more than one lodgement for the same transaction, not when cancelling an agreement—a cancelled agreement is not the same as a cancelled lodgement!
How to cancel an agreement
If you’ve submitted a transaction and the agreement has since been cancelled, you’ll have to request a reassessment.
Cancel transactions still in draft
If your transaction hasn’t yet been submitted, it can be deleted by users with Administrator-level permissions. They need to log in to QRO Online and:
- Go to the Lodgements tab.
- Locate the transaction number.
- Select Lodge—the transaction will appear.
- Scroll to the bottom-left corner of the page and click Delete.
