Link your QRO Online account to another person, company or trust
After you’ve created an individual QRO Online account and contact card, you can manage accounts for other people, companies and trusts.
Once you have created your account in QRO Online, you can manage accounts for other people, companies and trusts.
To access another account, you first need to create a contact card. This contact card:
- allows another person with an account to search for you in QRO Online and assign you permission to access their account
- allows you to request permission to access another entity’s account information
- ensures you will be notified of any changes or updates for accounts you administer.
Watch our video tutorials on how to:
Create contact card
To create your contact card:
- Log in to QRO Online.
- Select Add account on the home page.
- Select Edit on the Contact card.
- Read the terms and check the 2 boxes to agree.
- Enter your surname and email address.
- Click Save.
Your contact card will display. - Select Save again to confirm, or Cancel if you need to edit the information.
Link accounts
After you have created a contact card, you can link your account to:
- another person’s account (e.g. a parent, your client)
- a company or trust account for which you are the director or trustee
- a company or trust account for which you are not the director or trustee.
Once you have created your contact card, the person who you want to link to needs to assign you permission to access their account information. To do this, they must also have a QRO Online account and a contact card.
Once you have received access:
- Log in to QRO Online.
- Select View accounts on the home page.
- Select their name from the Client list.
Their name and client number will then appear at the top-left of the screen.
You can return to your account by going to Home.
If the person is unable to create their own account, you will need to submit an enquiry in QRO Online.
- Select Submit enquiry on the home page
- Complete the details and submit.
We’ll contact you to verify your relationship with that person.
You can link your account to a company or trust account if you are registered as a director, trustee or director of a corporate trustee.
(For royalty accounts, a registered director, trustee or company secretary of a company or trust will need to complete a manual request (Form R04.1) and email it to royalty@treasury.qld.gov.au.)
Once you have created your contact card:
- Select the Request permission tab.
- Select your role.
- Enter the client number of the company or trust account you want to link to.
The client number can be found on past assessment notices.
If you are a director of a corporate trustee, you will be prompted to add the ABN or ACN as well. - Select Request.
If your relationship with the company or trust is confirmed, permission will be granted and you will have administrator access to that account. - Go to Home and select View accounts.
- Select the company or trust name from the Client list.
Their name and client number will then appear at the top-left of the screen.
You can return to your account by going to Home.
If your relationship with the company or trust is not confirmed, check your details and add the ABN or ACN.
If your relationship is still not confirmed, select Other and submit an enquiry. Enter all relevant information including your role and the company or trust. We’ll contact you to verify your relationship and link your account.
Administrators
As a company or trust account administrator, you can assign permission to someone else (e.g. another director or trustee, a company employee or accountant). They will need their own QRO Online account and contact card before you assign them permission.
There are 2 ways you can access a company or trust account if you are not the director or trustee.
1. Another user can assign you permission
If a company director or trustee has already linked their personal account to the company or trust that you need to access, they can assign you permission if you have created your contact card. Once this is done, you can access the account.
- Select View accounts on the home page.
- Select the company or trust name from the Client list.
2. Request permission
If the director, trustee or the corporate trustee is unable to register for QRO Online and you’re the first person to request access, follow these steps:
- Create your contact card.
- Select the Request permission tab.
- Select Other.
Enter all relevant information, including your role and relationship with the company or trust. - Select Submit enquiry.
For royalty accounts, complete the manual request (Form R04.2) and email it to royalty@treasury.qld.gov.au.
We’ll contact you to verify your relationship and link your account.
