King’s Birthday office closure

Our office will be closed on Monday 7 October for the King’s Birthday public holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday 8 October from 8.30am.

Public ruling DA000.18.1

The Commissioner has issued a new public ruling on partial renting and home concessions (DA000.18.1).

Payroll tax 2024 annual return

The annual return is now available in QRO Online. It must be lodged and paid by Monday 22 July 2024.

State Budget

The 2024–25 Queensland Budget included several revenue measures for Queensland.

These measures include changes to:

• transfer duty
  • first home concession
  • first home vacant land concession
• additional foreign acquirer duty
• land tax
  • foreign surcharge
  • absentee surcharge
• payroll tax
  • apprentice and trainee rebate
  • regional discount.

The Queensland Government has announced changes to the threshold for the first home concession and first home vacant land concession.
